Barbara Slaine, 63, was visiting the Gentle Barn animal sanctuary in Santa Clarita. She never encountered a live turkey, let alone one which unexpectedly came up to nuzzle her. "It was just the sweetest moment -- I could have sat with her forever," she said. Gentle Barn was founded 20 years ago and has since rescued 200 cows, horses, donkeys, goats, and other farm animals.
