An arctic walrus has been taking a break in the harbor of Scarborough, Yorkshire.
The walrus is believed to be Thor, the same walrus spotted on the Hampshire coastline earlier this month. The Sea Life Scarborough aquarium said its animal care team is monitoring the walrus. They shared that he appears to be well and is just taking a break after his long journey. Thanks to Thor, Scarborough has seen many visitors since New Year's Eve who want to see the walrus in person. Visitors have been asked to keep their distance and pets leashed, for their own safety and the walrus' wellbeing. The town's New Year's Eve fireworks display was also canceled out of concern for the walrus as they could have caused distress to the wild animal.
