Ken Ward is on his fourth trip to Ukraine since November, delivering blankets, wood-burning stoves and generators. Ward, a military veteran who helped found churches in Moldova and Ukraine after the Soviet Union collapsed, was introduced to several Ukrainian pastors in June through a church leader in Moldova. Helping Ukraine, founded last year by Atlanta community redevelopment expert Emory Morsberger, has raised $650,000 to ship medical equipment to Ukraine and provide the supplies Ward helps distribute. In Uman, a central Ukrainian city where a church has set up a heating center, they have bread, fellowship, and can charge their phones, Ward says, which are visible results of Helping Ukraine's efforts.
