An ecological win occurred recently when two tribes (the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe and the Suquamish Indian Tribe) in the state of Washington, U.S., won a settlement from various companies for funds to clean up the habitat along Seattle's Lower Duwamish River. which has suffered from pollution for many years. As a result of the court ruling, Lyden Inc. and its affiliates will pay $556,250 to trustees that include the two Native American tribes along with the state of Washington and the U.S. government.
