After embarking on a cross country roadtrip, which took them on a four-month journey in an RV, Jon and Erin Carpenter bought a laundromat business. They were inspired by all the laundromats they utilized on the trip, so when the North Carolina-based couple decided to relocate to Charleston, South Carolina they purchased a laundromat there, which had been abandoned for decades, and refurnished it. "We had no plans to get into the laundromat [business]," said Jon.
