Mandy Stewart of Lula, Ga., started the Love Your Neighbor Ministry in June 2020 to help neighbors who were in need of food and other necessities during the coronavirus pandemic. She built a "Blessing Box," a simple wooden box with a door that is stocked with food, drinks, personal hygiene products and other necessities. Through a Facebook connection, the Blessing Box found a home in front of Amanda's Farm to Fork, a restaurant owned by Amanda Browning, also a Lula resident. Since then, city residents have kept the Blessing Box full of food and other products, usually leaving something in exchange for something taken.
