Lavender has long been used for its calming and stress relieving properties, and it's no wonder sales have increased dramatically during the coronavirus pandemic. Castle Farms, the UK's biggest grower of lavender, reported that demand for their "sleep oil" has quadrupled. Lavender farmers in the US have also seen sales surge. With families unable to visit one another in person, Castle Farms began putting together "stay-at-home" care packages for customers to send to loved ones. "Seeing some of the messages going out with those packs was really heartwarming," farmer Lorna Roberts told CNN.
