Even though they placed third in the 2018 World Lacrosse Championship, the Iroquois Nationals were at first excluded from the international World Games 2022 because they didn't represent a sovereign nation. When the Ireland Lacrosse team learned of this, they withdrew their spot in the World Games and gave it to the team representing the Haudenosaunee Nation. So far, there have been no objections.
