On Jan. 27, 2020, a snowy owl touched down on the North Meadow ballfield in New York City's Central Park. At this time of year, this particular owl usually travels south from the Arctic to search for prey. Birdwatchers flocked to the park to catch a glimpse of the rare sight. The last time a snowy owl was seen in Central Park was in 1890, NBC New York reported.
