Jennifer Williams wants students to love reading the way she did as a child; she fondly recalls how her mother read to her until she went away to college. Fast-forward to a more recent time, and the children she was tutoring were asking if they could keep the books she read with them. A quest to give away 1 million books was begun. Because she couldn’t give the books away at first, she decided to give away 300 books She succeeded, with donations FROM community `member`s. Then she set the million-book goal of a lifetime. Williams has currently given away 63,000 and is still at it. “My goal is just to keep doing what I do," she said. "The world is full of people who are just complaining. I’m just going to roll up my sleeves and try to do something to help.”
