Suzano, a Brazilian pulp company and Spinnova, a Finnish cellulose fiber startup, have joined together to make textile fiber from wood and waste. As worldwide demand for sustainable fiber grows and companies are being pushed toward sustainable processing methods, Spinova has seized the opportunity to collaborate with fashion companies such as Bestseller, Marimekko and Bergens to develop the the technology. H&M, the second-largest fashion retailer in the world, will join as a brand partner. They hope to have commercial production capacity by the end of 2022.
