People in small towns in northeastern Oklahoma are feeding their neighbors in need by prepaying meals and posting the receipts on the walls of local restaurants. Anyone who's short on cash can take a receipt and get a meal, no questions asked and no tips expected. It began in February when, Inspired by a 2019 story from Arkansas, Dawg House owner Jennifer White invited customers to buy and post $10 meal receipts. From restaurants in Miami, a former mining town of about 13,000, the idea spread to other towns. Even out-of-towners have joined in -- someone from Chicago recently phoned to donate several meals.
