An Islamic society that offers Covid-19 vaccines to people of all faiths has vaccinated about 12,000 people at its 11 mosques in northern Virginia since mid-February. About 700 were vaccinated at a joint mosque-synagogue clinic, where the second dose was scheduled during Ramadan, although the vaccine does not break the fast. People see vaccines as a step to normalcy, the society says; in non-pandemic Ramadan times, up to 7,000 congregants pray each night at the 11 locations. More than 4,600 people have been vaccinated through a similar Faith in the Vaccine program in Washington, D.C.
