In an effort to combat food waste, China has adopted new legislation that bans online binge-eating videos and will impose fines on restaurant diners who leave large quantities of food uneaten. The move is seen by government leaders as a bold stroke toward building a 'resource-conserving' society. it will also bring the country closer to meeting net-zero emissions by 2060 as pledged by president Xi Jinping.
