The first Clean Power Annual report by the American Clean Power Association (ACPA) states that, with 8,894 megawatts of utility-scale solar projects being added, the amount of solar installed in the US in 2020 was 4000 percent higher than what was installed in 2010. Combined wind, solar and battery storage power represented 78% of new power installations in 2020, as corporate buyers too announced over 10 gigawatts of new clean power contracts and power purchase agreements (PPAs). The renewable energy industry currently employs 415,000 Americans, and more than $120 billion US have been invested in 90 gigawatts of clean energy projects. The energy transition is well under way, is the upbeat statement of Heather Zichal, CEO of the ACPA. We hope this report can be a tool and resource as our industry drives innovation and job creating investments in every American state, she added.
