Legendary Houston philanthropist Jim McIngvale, aka Mattress Mack," has turned his store, Gallery Furniture, into a shelter for victims of Hurricane Ida. He has also rounded up truckloads of mattresses and other essential supplies to transport to Louisiana. Volunteers are assembled at his store to collect donations and contributions in kind, ranging from non-perishable food to personal care items and toys and books. "It's just the right thing to do," says McIngvale. We've got lots of mattresses, lots of sofas, and anybody needs a place to stay, come out to Gallery Furniture.
