Hard hit by the pandemic, many idled taxis in Thailand are being used to cultivate tiny rooftop gardens. Using plastic garbage bags stretched over bamboo frames, workers from taxi cooperatives constructed small plots, adding soil to grow crops including tomatoes, cucumbers and string beans to feed drivers who have been affected by the lockdowns. "The vegetable garden is both an act of protest and a way to feed my staff during this tough time," Ratchapruk and Bovorn Taxi Cooperative's executive Thapakorn Assawalertkul, told NPR.
