Nicole and Brent Keryluke of Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, were tragically killed in a motorcycle accident, leaving their two young children in their grandparents' care. The children both suffer from hearing impairments and one is in speech therapy. Given the medical bills, the grandparents were forced to sell Brent's classic car, a 1973 Pontiac Parisienne, which he had restored himself and hoped one day would be his son's. When the family took the car to EG Auctions, they explained they didn't want to sell the car, but they had to. At the auction, upon learning why the car had to be sold, the audience stepped up to support the family: One man bought the car for $29,000 and immediately gave the car back to be auctioned again. Then another man bought the car for $30,000 and immediately gave the car back to be auctioned again. Finally, a third man bought the car for $20,000 and then gave it back to the family. Additionally, multiple people donated money to assist the family.
