Vance Johnson, former NFL wide receiver, grew up with a domestically abusive and drug-addicted father. Throughout high school, Johnson avoided drinking or drugs because he did not want to be like his dad. However, when he got to the University of Arizona, he started doing drugs. As his drug problem worsened over time, he went through seven marriages and abandoned several children. In 2013, however, Johnson had decided to take control of his life and became sober. Since then, he has rebuilt relationships with his children and his father, encouraging others to do the same.
