In its pledge to tackle climate change, Germany set the ambition to have 15 million battery-powered cars on the road by 2030. Currently, there are 570,000 registered electric-powered cars on the road. The country will need to increase production by at least 33% to reach its desired goal. Incentives and funding have helped significantly, but the country still faces delays in raising awareness and increasing accessibility for the general populace. But Germany remains firm in their commitment. "Outside of the existing system of fleet emission standards, we advocate that only vehicles that can be refueled with e-fuels can be registered," reports their document.
