Ebony Johnson, an employee of Dunkin Donuts, received a Christmas gift that was an answer to her prayers: a fully furnished home for her and her family. They had fallen on hard times and been evicted from their home. Dunkin Donuts customer Susanne Burke made this all possible. Burke had formed a friendship with Johnson over the last three years; she is a regular Dunkin customer and Johnson is her favorite employee. When Johnson was gone for several weeks, Burke was concerned and learned about their recent eviction. She decided to help. "When she experienced this hardship, I just wanted to see if I could help her improve her life and the life of her kids and make sure they had stable housing so that she could continue to provide that excellent service that she does at Dunkin," Burke said. Burke found organizations to help the family find a home and partnered with a staging designer and furniture bank to furnish the home. "I'm just so thankful that we are back in our home," Johnson said.
