Who knew that frozen lakes could be giant canvases? For architect-designer Pasi Widgren in Finland, that's exactly what they are. The man has been drawing pictures of various animals every winter on frozen lakes since 2016. In place of a paintbrush, he wields a snow shoveland ice awls, in case he ever falls through the ice. His most recent artwork is a large, furry fox sketched on Lake Pitkajarvi. The marvelous piece can be seen from atop a nearby cliff. Yet, with recurring snowfall or sunshine, his artwork usually vanishes within a few days. To this, Widgren responds, "It's very important to me also that making this kind of art doesn't leave any (marks) to nature."
