Although Casa Bonita remains closed for renovations, the restaurant venue is paying several dozen of its employees to volunteer in their community full-time. People like Oscar Anguiano have been volunteering at places like We Don't Waste, a nonprofit organization that recovers and redistributes unused food in Denver. "I absolutely love it," said Anguiano. "It's a different kind of feeling giving back to community while I'm still employed." The restaurant plans to reopen in late 2022, to its employees as well as its customers.
