On January 31st, Edna Clayton will be 101 years young. The staff at Hector House in Glasgow, Scotland, where Edna lives, issued an appeal for cards to be sent to her and the response was amazing. She has received 4,500 cards in 3 days and another special card is expected. Buckingham Palace has confirmed she will be receiving a card from the Queen. Her celebration will continue on a party bus ride with son James and friends from the care home, and then back for a tea party. Edna's secret to her long life? "Not worrying, sheer determination, being positive, being independent, taking what life throws at you with a smile on your face and getting on with it." She added: "The idea of people taking their time to write me, renewed my faith in the world. It reminds me that there's a lot of lovely, kind people in this world." If you'd like to mail a birthday card to Edna, they can be sent to: Edna Clayton, Hector House, 2 Hector Road, Glasgow G42 3RL
