Wil Reynolds is the founder of search engine optimization (SEO) company SEER, a company he started in his living room 19 years ago. The company has grown to over 215 employees and is in demand; he receives and turns down about 2-3 offers weekly. Six years ago when he received an offer of $10 million for the company, Reynolds thought about it. "It was very simple. The things that I would start to do with that money I found grotesque and overly indulgent and not aligned with my values. I'm not going to level my lifestyle up. I'm good where I'm at," Reynolds said. Recently, he received an offer of $50 million for Seer, which he declined. Instead, he's investing his company's wealth in his employees through minimum salaries and profit sharing and he's spending money to encourage volunteerism and charity among his workers and clients.
