Rahmah Animal Welfare Association is a Riyadh-based nonprofit that provides care for stray animals, arranges adoptions and fights wildlife trafficking. Launched in 2020, the organization has thus far rescued more than 2,300 animals and overseen hundreds of adoptions. “It started with a group of people interested in animal welfare and the environment who gathered and decided to create Rahmah to raise awareness toward animals and the environment,” said Shokran Aljihani, a founding member of Rahmah. She is one of about 2,000 volunteers that bring the nonprofit’s mission to life. The shelter’s team actively promotes the notion of coexistence, peace, and compassion for animals.
