Ukraine Takes Shelter is a website that links refugees with hosts. Andrea Harding of East Sussex, England raised money with the help of family and friends to get a Ukranian family from their Ukranian home to her vacation home in France. The money raised paid for their flights from Budapest to France, for clothes, food and anything that they need to settle in and start afresh. Amaliia, 13, from Kharkiv, told the BBC: "It is amazing. I am happy now.” Amaliia's aunt, Aliia Mezhenina, from Kyiv, expressed her gratitude to the "many people" who had helped them with flights, clothes and somewhere to stay. Andrea said, "It's been a very emotional and fulfilling experience. I think we will be friends for the rest of our lives."
