Manufacturing company Blueland has helped eliminate a billion plastic bottles from landfills and oceans by removing water from household cleaning products. Founder of BluelandSarah Paiji Yoo said it started with the realization that more than 90% of a cleaning solution is water. It doesn't make sense that we are not only buying a new plastic bottle every time we run out of cleaning solution, we're also paying for all this water, Paiji Yoo says. She had the vision to create a cleaning product in dry tablet form, where consumers add water themselves. It seemed like a good idea to just sell what the consumer needs, she says. Now, B Corp and Climate Neutral-certified Blueland sell a line of products that include hand soaps, cleaning sprays, and dish soaps. They allhave comparable prices andgenerate the same rich foam experience,but without the environmental costs.
