Kindness is all around us. And people need more of it, the world's largest study on the topic had found. About 60,000 people took part in the Kindness Test led by Robin Banerjee, head of the School of Psychology at the University of Sussex. About 75% said close friends or family displayed acts of kindness towards them either “quite often” or “nearly all the time," while 43% said someone had been kind to them within the last day. Sometimes, it was as simple as bringing a cup of tea. While overall people felt the levels of kindness they’d experienced in their lifetime had remained the same (39%) or decreased (36%), the pandemic disrupted that pattern. Two-thirds of test respondents said the pandemic made people kinder; yet, while 70% of people in the UK carried this view, only 36% of American respondents did.
