When the Ukraine government needed big vehicles to move people out of war zones, General Motors donated 50 full-size Chevrolet Tahoe SUVs to Ukraine's Ministry of Infrastructure. Global shipping company Maersk transported the SUVs, which were always intended for export, and Polish authorities moved them across the border. GM has also given $250,000 to support humanitarian aid and matched US employee contributions up to $50,000 for specific nonprofits. GM Canada also ran a matching program for employee donations. In Russia, GM suspended vehicle imports and commercial activity on Feb. 28 and now is closing its commercial office there.
