Prevented ocean plastic (Pop) is the use of "ocean-bound" plastics that would have ended up in the marine ecosystems to be used in food packaging. Recently, Lidl supermarket became the first retail store in Ireland to use Pop. "From removing plastic pollution to protecting fish stocks, we’re committed to making a difference,” responsible sourcing manager Cáit Lynch says.
