San Jose, Costa Rica, suburb Curridabat is serving as a model for ecosystems and promoting environmental health and sustainability. Referred to as "Ciudad Dulce," or "Sweet City", Curridabat provides ecosystem services to residents, prioritizing green space and planting native species. Magalli Castro lvarez, who oversees Costa Rica's network of biocorridors with the National System of Conservation Areas, said, "Biocorridors improve air quality, water quality and give people spaces to relax, have fun and improve their health."
