With coronavirus keeping many at home, the roads are quieter than usual. Under a Texas highway overpass, a man with a shopping cart piled with belongings holds a sign: "Homeless. Please Help." Dominick SeJohn Walton hands him a bag filled with a sandwich, cookies and applesauce. On the outside of the bag was a handwritten message of love. "I started serving meals to the homeless because I understand what it's like not to know where your next meal is going to come from, and that's the least that I feel like we can do for our community is to give back," Walton, 27, describes. After falling into depression after a surgery for an ectopic pregnancy, the former gas station cashier moved into her 2010 Chevrolet Malibu, where she mostly lives, except for an occasional night at her sister's. Currently working with a nonprofit, she's saving money to start a t-shirt business. Her dream: A business so successful she can give away even more food.
