The world's largest offshore wind project developer is requiring all of its suppliers to use 100% renewable electricity by 2025. According to Mads Nipper, Ørsted’s CEO, "A sustainable future for our planet requires a rapid transition to renewable energy and limiting global warming to 1.5 °C." Ørsted’s supply chain decarbonization program was first implemented for its main suppliers in 2020. Since then, a majority of suppliers working with the company switched to using renewable electricity exclusively, and an additional 15% have agreed to do so by 2025.
