Upon hearing its meowing at the Fordham station in New York, a couple of witnesses reported to a rescue organization that a kitten is seen on commuter train tracks. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority officers were notified, and immediately dispatched to cut off power to the third rail so that they could go onto the tracks to rescue the wayward kitten. “Without them, this could have been catastrophic,” says a reporter from ABC7NY. The train service was only stalled for 10 minutes. After rescuing the kitten, the tiny feline was taken to Last Hope Inc. Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation, and was adopted by the woman who first made the report.
