Senior citizens in Turkey got the green light to leave their homes for four hours on Sunday, during a time frame when other age groups were under lockdown in 24 provinces, including Ankara and Istanbul. Since March 21, seniors over 65 in the country were required to stay indoors for their own safety and to curb the spread of the virus. Then on Sunday, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca tweeted, "The expected day has arrived. The city will again meet you.... Do not forget to put on a mask this beautiful day." The elders roamed their city streets in a socially distanced way, with bright smiles as they took in the sights, sounds and smells with fresh eyes.
