When Mary Morrison walked into the gymnasium and everyone clapped and cheered, she was scared. Scared that they were going to announce her retirement. Instead, she was surprised when she was presented with the Crossing Guard of the Year Award by the P.E.I. Home and School Federation. 12th-grade student James shared that he has known Mary since intermediate school. "Every day she's out here, rain, snow, shine. She's just so kind and so sweet and she's just a lovely person to talk to." Mary said the feeling is mutual. "I keep doing it because of the kids. They're just wonderful."
