As the pioneering Road to Refuge project is introduced by National Express, a coach operator, and the UK's Women's Aid charity, get ready for a wave of change. The program, which was created especially to support victims of domestic abuse, offers free coach travel throughout the UK to people who are escaping abuse and looking for safety. Chief executive of Women's Aid Farah Nazeer nods to the difference that this team effort will make, emphasizing that the program will be "truly lifesaving". "Domestic abuse isolates survivors from their finances, making it incredibly difficult to escape to safety," she says, highlighting the impact of the abuse.
