Conversations that perhaps previously would not have been possible are now emerging. The message we are getting is, if we don't take care of nature, it will not take care of us, Elizabeth Mrema, acting secretary of the UN's Department of Biological Diversity, told the Guardian. While the conversations around banning vs. sanctioning wildlife markets are complex, the fact that the dialogue is being sparked is a sign of constructive change.
