Thomas Caudill is a man on a mission; he drives around the city of Lexington, Kentucky, on cold nights making contact with people experiencing homelessness. He offers shelter at the Catholic Action Center on these frigid nights. When people say no, he can give them food, hand warmers, and blankets to help them get through the night. "I don't know, sometimes you go home and think, 'Is he going to make it?' You can't do nothing but just pray for them and come back tomorrow. Hopefully he's still here and the sleeping bag ain't wet and he made it," Caudill said. Sometimes Caudill gets lucky and someone who declined shelter on a previous night will eventually say yes. "When you get that 'yes,' it gives us an opportunity to feed them and try to help them," Caudill said.
