UK gardeners are being encouraged to participate in No Mow May so that wild plants will flourish and provide nectar for pollinators. Each year, British conservation charity Plantlife sponsors Every Flower Counts, a citizen-led science survey to emphasize the importance of letting garden lawns grow wild. Thousands participate, and based on the charity's findings, "a radical shift in attitudes towards lawn management is underway." Ian Dunn, head of Plantlife told The Guardian, "These results demonstrate that our call to No Mow May has set seed and laid deep roots. The results underline how embracing a little more wildness in our gardens can be a boon for plants, butterflies and bees."
