Kids Who Farm, co-created by 12-year-old Raaina Hinay and her father, is a Filipino NGO that is training young adults on the basics of sustainable farming. From young children to college students, the organization has trained more than 3,000 young adults on farming practices. They have set up 38 community food gardens throughout Zamboanga, the third-largest city in the Philippines. "After that, we started teaching more communities and schools on how to build their own garden, almost anyone," says Hinay. And with a projected shortage of farmers over the next 12 years, the young child and her father are hoping to address the country's food security as well.
