Max Chevevatenko had visited Minnesota to join hockey summer camps. That's where he met, Tyler Hess, another young hockey player. When the war broke out in Max's home country, Ukraine, Tyler asked him if he could come stay with his family in Minnesota. That was 9 months ago. Max misses his family a lot, whom he stays in touch with via FaceTime. But he is grateful for his Minnesota family and how much they care about him. He is also supported by the Minnetonka Hockey Association and his team. Fundraisers have helped pay for his hockey fees and more.
