Abhi Shah was sorting through discarded lottery tickets in his parents’ convenience store when he found a million-dollar-winning ticket. Instead of keeping the ticket for themselves, Abhi and his parents decided to give it back to Lea Fiega, the customer who bought it. Lea, a regular customer at the store, was in a hurry when she bought the ticket. She did a quick scratch off and thought it was a losing ticket, so she asked Abhi’s mom to throw it in the trash. Ten days later, Abhi saw the ticket again as he was sorting through the trash can and found that Lea had left one number unscratched. Out of curiosity, he made the scratch and saw the million-dollar-winning number. Even though Abhi and his family could have bought many things with the money, they decided to do the right thing by giving the ticket back to Lea, its lucky owner.
