The sight of a North Atlantic right whale calf might not mean much to the average eye, but to biologists in Florida, it's an occasion to celebrate. And appropriately so, because only 360 right whales are left in the world, due to fishing equipment entanglement, whaling and vessel strikes. Right whales are given this moniker because, sadly, they are the "right" whale to hunt. And given that context, even two new whale births amount to a much-needed silver lining.
