The sweetest Thanksgiving tradition this side of candied yams is back! Jamal Hinton and Wanda Dench will once again get together for the 2021 holiday, six years after she accidentally sent him a text inviting him to Thanksgiving dinner, believing she had texted her own grandson. "We are all set for year 6!" Hinton posted on Twitter, acknowledging that it will be the sixth straight year they have spent the holiday together. The story went viral six years ago when Dench accidentally invited Hinton for the holiday and after clearing up the confusion about who he was, asked whether he could still come to dinner. She said, "Of course you can. That's what grandma's dofeed everyone." The two, and their partners became fast friends, their age difference notwithstanding. They look forward to another holiday together, although they will miss Lonnie, Dench's husband, who passed away after his battle with COVID in 2020.
