A Noung, his wife, and two children moved to Wellington, New Zealand as refugees, fleeing FROM violence in Myanmar in 2019. When their car was stolen and totaled they were devastated. Under financial limitations already, their chances for starting life in a new country became more limited. Yet, with the help of 500 kind benefactors who raised $24,000 in donations, the Burmese family was able to secure a Mazda Premacy. A Noung and his wife are now able to be contributing `member`s of society and the two sons can learn the Kiwi language. Mu Gay, the eldest son, said, “When we learned that so many people were helping we were very surprised, I never thought people would help like that. The comments and messages from people showing empathy makes us so happy and overwhelmed.”
